Introducing the New Design Review Experience in AllSpice 🚀

We’re excited to roll out the first version of the new Design Review page, designed to bring a faster, more intuitive, and ECAD-like experience to your hardware collaboration workflow.

This is just the beginning—we’ll be shipping more updates over the next few weeks, refining the experience based on your feedback and continuing to align with what electrical engineers expect from their tools.

What’s New in This Release

The new Design Review is focused on performance, usability, and familiarity, especially for electrical engineers used to traditional ECAD tools.

First Key improvements

  • Improved UX: A redesigned layout and interaction model that feels more intuitive for hardware engineers. Say goodbye to endless scrolling—files are now listed in the left project panel, allowing you to quickly select and focus on the one you want to review. Each file loads individually, improving performance and keeping your workflow smooth.
  • Better performance: Files now load one at a time, when selected, rather than all at once—making things faster and more responsive, especially on large projects.
  • New “Changes” Tab: We’ve renamed the old “Files Changed” tab to “Changes” and repositioned some

Toggling Between Old and New View

You can try the new experience right now!
• Head to any project’s Design Review page
• Use the toggle on the Left Project Panel to switch between the classic and new experience
• The new view is labeled as the “Changes” tab, replacing the previous “Files Changed” tab

We’re making it easy to explore the new version without disrupting your current workflow—you can toggle back at anytime.

What’s Coming Next

This is just version one, and more enhancements are on the way:

  • Hierarchical Project View
  • Enhanced comment section.
  • List of changes in a diff.
  • Tighter integration with file metadata
  • More customization options for review flow

We’ll continue to iterate based on your usage and feedback, so keep an eye out for future improvements.
