How to setup 2FA and MFA
This page explains multi-factor authentication (MFA), two-factor authentication (2FA), and how to manage account access in AllSpice.
Is MFA the same as 2FA?
2FA is a type of MFA.
- MFA (multi-factor authentication) means using two or more factors to verify identity.
- 2FA (two-factor authentication) means exactly two factors.
In practice, many teams use the terms interchangeably when talking about account security settings.
How do I add a security key for 2FA or MFA in AllSpice?

What if I lose my primary 2FA or MFA device?
We recommend adding a backup 2FA authentication device in case your primary device is lost or stops working. This helps you self-service login and avoid account lockout.
If you still cannot log in, contact support@allspice.io. We can help restore account access after identity verification.
